Summer Season - This season can be a yearly highlight for many farmers, and some will choose to show off the best of their livestock at country shows and fairs. For the arable farmers, there’s no shortage of long hours in this season! Haymaking and silage handling acts as a prelude to the cereal harvest season, for crops such as barley and wheat. It’s a game of watching and waiting, and then the drum of the harvesters’ echoes around the countryside throughout those beautiful summer evenings. Whether it be by day or night, the combine harvester is always a thrilling sight. When a year’s worth of toil and labour is gathered into the sheds, maintaining the quality of the cereals and grains harvested is a farmers top priority; check out our range of grain monitoring equipment right here.

No sooner has the rush of the harvest season left us, it’s full steam ahead into autumn cultivation and drilling season in preparation for the next year’s crop yield. It’s important to keep a good inventory of wearing parts to hand at this time of year, make sure you have your full complement from Agri-Linc right here. Hedge cutting is also an important task that begins at around this time of year. As winter starts to unfold, farms will start feeding their livestock more and then they will be housed throughout the colder months. Even with the reduced amount of daylight hours there is always a lot to do - they say a farmer’s work is never done.

With the turn of a new season, the great circle of farming pushes on again! As we begin to see the first blushes of blossom, and a few feeble-footed lambs venture into the fields again, which of the seasons would you say, is your 'Best Time' of year?
