So, let’s recap on LAMMA 2024. In my youthful ignorance it took me until this year to realize that the abbreviation LAMMA stands for ‘Lincolnshire Agricultural Machinery Manufacturer’s Association’. These humble beginnings in 1982 were a chance for machinery manufacturers of the day (many of which were based in Lincolnshire) to showcase their latest offerings to a captive audience of the arable heartland of England at various showgrounds in the region, Newark and Peterborough namely.

DEFRA have announced a new round of grant benefitting English farmers who are looking to improve their farm productivity and enhance environmental benefits!
What’s new for 2024
New for 2024, the fund is now split into 3 separate grants: productivity, slurry and animal health and welfare equipment.
They have increased the maximum grant amounts for productivity and slurry, so you can now apply for up to £50,000 for each of these themes.
The maximum grant amount for animal health and welfare remains at £25,000.
This means you could receive up to £125,000 in total, towards the purchase of new equipment and technology.
Further to these improvements, they have also increased the grant amount available for most items from last year.
This year there will be multiple application windows.

The protection and maintenance of hedges on a farm is a very important item in the farming calendar. A

It is forecasted that BPS payments received by many farms will be phased out by approximately 2028. Farmers will be glad to know that the government has implemented the ‘SFI’ or sustainable farming incentive by way of replacing some of the income previously relied upon by many farmers from the BPS. The SFI represents a scheme that aims to create a healthier bottom line for many farmers while protecting the environment for future generations, using the natural capital our wonderful British countryside already has to offer.
Some Particulars:
- You can apply for the SFI if you were eligible for the BPS (Basic Payment Scheme) in 2022 or 2023.
- To qualify for an early payment by the

The reality of the matter is that we all know there are a good number of alternatives out there; we’ve learnt this firsthand from our dealings as a family over a long period of time in the used machinery industry. We could reel off the qualities of a Moore Unidrill once again, but below we’ve decided to name all its contemporaries and offer you useful and informative comparisons. At the end of the day, that’s the information you’re after…
Why Use An Overseeder?
If you’re an agronomist, agriculturalist or livestock farmer, optimum pasture and grassland quality is a priority. Use of a grassland overseeder ensures improved seed-to-soil contact, placing seeds directly into the s
